A Stirling Effort

The day started with a low mist with a promise of sunshine which, sadly, never materialised. Rolling roads took us to our first coffee stop at Carnwath where we warmed up with good coffee and cakes. We then ventured into bandit country, Shotts, for lunch in an American style diner i.e. a portacabin. This turned out to be one of our better stops! Another 20 miles on we stopped briefly in Concurrat to fuel up for our climb over Kilsyth Hills (Tak Ma Doon Road). A sweeping descent eventually took us into Stirling for a well earned rest – only 300 miles to go. 65 miles 4900ft of climb.
