A Highland Fling!

A chilly autumnal start from Pitlochry this morning but much brighter than the last few days. A gradual 20 mile climb, much of it on a cycle path alongside the A9 through Drumochter Pass and into Dalwhinnie. We alternated a cold headwind with short bursts of sun. The ride continued in unremarkable fashion to an unremarkable lunch stop. Things improved greatly after lunch in terms of roads and views. Mountains, lochs, ancient woods and smooth quiet roads took us eventually to Boat of Garten for our over night stop. 68 miles and 3500ft climbed.
