Run out of gas?t

No not us but our hotel kitchen who consequently struggled to produce our breakfast! Finally underway a tad late but with blue skies, no wind and not a bad temperature. A flat 25 miles flew by as our chain gang operated perfectly on the smooth roads to Lairg. The cafe was expecting us, providing coffees, cakes and take away sandwiches. Onwards and upwards to the Crask Inn in the middle of nowhere. We moved swiftly on to Altnaharra (reportedly the coldest place in the UK). Sandwiches eaten we sped off on a long gentle descent towards Loch Naver then followed the river Naver on a scenic extravaganza. We were caught by a light shower but soon reached Bettyhill and were bowled over by the beautiful golden sand beach. 71 miles and 3000ft climbed.
